AM2PM presented to visiting EU delegation at Technion

On 19 November, a delegation representing several EU countries and EU institutions visited Technion – Israel Institute of Technology to gain an updated overview of the university’s participation in EU-funded research and innovation programmes. Within this context, the AM2PM  project was introduced as one of several ongoing Horizon Europe initiatives at Technion.

During the session, Prof. Rafael Sacks presented four EU-funded projects currently active at the institution, including AM2PM. His contribution outlined the project’s objectives, methodological approach, and expected impact on digital construction and advanced manufacturing. The delegates expressed strong interest in the work carried out by the AM2PM consortium and welcomed the opportunity to learn more about Technion’s research activities in this field.

Following the presentations, the delegation visited the TACC laboratory, where Prof. Arnon Bentur provided additional insights into research activities related to innovative construction materials and technologies. The laboratory visit offered participants a first-hand impression of the facilities and the experimental work that supports Technion’s contributions to European collaborative projects.

The inclusion of AM2PM in the visit programme helped to illustrate Technion’s long-standing involvement in European research cooperation and the relevance of Horizon Europe in advancing innovation in the construction sector. The project’s presentation enabled delegates to gain a deeper understanding of how AM2PM contributes to current research priorities and to the digital transformation of built environment processes.

The visit also underscored the importance of continued engagement between research institutions and representatives of EU Member States and EU bodies. The exchanges held throughout the day contributed to a clearer understanding of shared interests and future opportunities for collaboration in areas related to sustainable construction, digitalisation, and advanced technological development.
