Fall Consortium Meeting in Copenhagen
Bringing researchers together in one place often creates a momentum that virtual collaboration cannot fully reproduce. This atmosphere defined the AM2PM Consortium Meeting held in Copenhagen, where partners from across Europe convened to review progress, align priorities, and strengthen the technical direction of the project.
The first day of the meeting, hosted by DTU – Technical University of Denmark, opened with a comprehensive assessment of the project’s progress in preparation for the RP1 Review. Representatives from all partner institutions presented updates on their respective work packages, outlining achievements, challenges and upcoming milestones.
A highlight of the day was a guided laboratory tour, showcasing DTU’s advanced research facilities supporting AM2PM’s work on digital twin technologies and innovative materials development. This provided partners with an opportunity to directly engage with the scientific and technological infrastructure that underpins several of the project’s core activities. Intensive collaborative workshops followed, where work package leaders and technical teams focused on problem-solving, knowledge exchange and detailed planning. These discussions strengthened the consortium’s shared understanding of interdependencies across the project and ensured alignment on the next phase of development.
The second day continued with technical workshops that further refined the project’s methodologies and consolidated progress across disciplines. The consortium placed strong emphasis on reinforcing the technical backbone of AM2PM, ensuring a coherent approach to system integration and future implementation. A central feature of the day was the Innovation Panel, which brought external expertise into the consortium’s discussions. Three distinguished speakers provided perspectives on current and emerging trends in 3D printing and advanced manufacturing:
Henrik Lund-Nielsen, COBOD International
Michel Honoré, FORCE Technology
Navid Ranjbar, DTU Construct, Digital Building Technologies
Their insights stimulated crucial dialogue on how to effectively bridge the gap between research outputs and real-world industry adoption. Discussions examined both the opportunities and barriers related to additive manufacturing technologies, supporting AM2PM’s ambition to accelerate pathways from scientific innovation to market implementation. The outcomes of this panel will feed directly into AM2PM’s Living Lab activities, which will share expert perspectives, use cases and practical reflections with wider stakeholder communities in the coming weeks.
Across the two-day meeting, partners from Technion, Technical University of Munich, DTU, Eindhoven University of Technology, WASP and FENIX TNT contributed to an intensive programme of joint work, reinforcing the collaborative spirit at the core of AM2PM. The Copenhagen meeting demonstrated how in-person engagement accelerates alignment, builds trust and supports the project’s strategic direction. The consortium now moves forward with strengthened coordination and renewed momentum as it prepares for upcoming review activities.
To accompany this report, the AM2PM team has also released a YouTube Short video capturing key moments from the meeting. The short provides a brief visual snapshot of the workshops, expert discussions and collaborative atmosphere that defined the event. We invite you to watch it and experience the highlights in motion.
